As practitioners we pride ourselves on being reflective and always strive to improve. Thank you for your feedback. This is what we learned:
-The program was helpful because...
students met teachers and learned about kindergarten.
families came to know how school works.
the children were happy.
we recently moved to the USA and this will help students with the transition.
my child learned many new things and is feeling comfortable about going to kindergarten.
my children made friends.
it helped show us what kindergarten would be like and see the difference from pre-school.
it reduces anxiety about starting kindergarten (for students and parents).
my child learned about expressing feelings, letter sounds and more in just 2 weeks! We see it integrated at home already.
it is a game changer for some families.
my child practiced speaking Engligh.
it was fun!

covered a lot of important information adults should know.
gave us a glimpse of what is to come.
showed us how much the teachers care.
we learned about the curriculum.
was important because I learned how I can better support my child at home.
Some lingering questions:
- Do we offer STEAM
We value science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. All are embedded into the learning experience. In addition we have some special STEAM activities we do throughout the year.
-Do we offer a gifted kindergarten program -
We do not offer a gifted program, but teachers all work hard to give each student just what they need. So enrichment and extensions in learning are embedded into our teaching.
-Do we offer adult computer training.
Unfortunately we do not, however you may find a class through the Burlington Public Library or the Burlington Recreation Department. Both are excellent resources in our Community.
-Could the program be longer
Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you like Kindergarten Expedition. At this time the idea is to offer a taste of the school experience. We appreciate your flexibility and recognize it may have been tricky for working parents to manage the hours. We are evaluating ideas for the future. A longer number of weeks or hours per day may be too much for students and teachers during the summer.
